OyBar in Studio City’s is looking for an experienced expediter to join our growing team! Recently named to Eater’s List of 38 Essential LA Restaurants, OyBar celebrates modern bar food and our 1970s neighborhood bar in Studio City. Our food is rooted inChef Jeff Strauss’s Culturally-Jewish American/East Coast traditions and deeply inspired by his love of Los Angeles and its incredible culinary diversity. OyBar is an innovative and welcoming environment for staff and patrons alike. This is a lively, supportive, fun, fast-paced kitchen & restaurant where someone with a collaborative spirit, passionate creativity, and a can-do attitude will thrive. Our busy service and small kitchen places demand on the expediter to make sure that dishes come out in a timely fashion, reach their appropriate destination and are correctly and consistently finished and presented. Organized, focused with great attention to detail and a communication skillset that allows both urgency andpatience. Our expediter will need to learn the setup, ingredient details and presentation Responsibilities Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority Assist in the final preparation of dishes where needed, confirm that plating and other finishing is up to standards Awareness of common food allergens and ability to memorize, remember available modifications or alternatives Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature Deliver orders to maintain appropriately paced service Eliminate obstacles in service, where needed provide assistance in food preparation or other support tasks Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request) Requirements Proven experience as food expeditor or other restaurant position Understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant Well-organized and ability to lead and direct people with respect and clarity Excellent communication, coordination and multi-tasking abilities High school diploma; Higher degree in hospitality or relevant field will be appreciated Food handling certification Who you are: Punctual, thrives under pressure, full availability, reliable transportation to work. Main focus is to maintain high food standards, a clean, safe kitchen and follow all kitchen procedures as it pertains to recipes, cooking instructions, etc. according to local Health Department standards.
